Creating something special – Bespoke Jewellery
Bespoke jewellery can be hard to find in Derby city centre. So people often take a trip out to our jewellery shop in the small town of Ashbourne, in search of something “a little bit different”.

Bespoke jewellery can mean different things
Bespoke jewellery sounds expensive – but that’s not necessarily the case. There are varying degrees of “bespoke jewellery”; it’s just a case of choosing the right option for you:
  • We can design and make a new piece from scratch, such as a unique engagement ring
  • We can mix existing items you own with new pieces – for example, the diamond from your mother’s engagement ring remounted on a new shank or the gold from your father’s wedding band?? melted down and used in a broach.
• We can source pieces (stones, shanks etc) from different suppliers and put them together to create a bespoke piece that perfectly combines your favourite bits from different items of jewellery.

We’re fairly unique in being an independent jewellers that uses both traditional tools to hand-make jewellery “out of the bench”, as well as modern, computer-aided design (CAD). CAD is great for designing pieces with accuracy and precision – giving you a much clearer idea of what your final bespoke piece will look like.
Heading 2: Ron Fairweather, local Goldsmith and Craftsman
Well-known Goldsmith Ron Fairweather works on all our bespoke jewellery, along with stone expert and Proprietor Alan Matkin. Ron has over 35 years’ experience, including producing items for retail outlets on Bond Street, so has a lifetime’s worth of expertise and ideas that you can benefit from.
Ron also designs and makes his own popular range of jewellery, which is sold in Avanti, showing just how much he enjoys this creative side of his work!
Heading 2: We’ll work closely with you
Creating a piece of bespoke jewellery is by its very nature, intensely personal. So we’ll encourage you to be involved in the process at all stages. We’ll listen to your requirements and your own ideas and work hard to create a piece that you love. You’ll have the opportunity to see, amend, and agree detailed designs before anything is made.
